Seattle
Every day life
Regular people are under constant surveillance. AI and drones can do a lot of work, but why not make people into robots? Give them some cheap skillwires, make them pay for it out of their paycheck so they are more or less slaves and all their know-how is on a subscription. Food comes out of soy-dispensers. AR makes life and the Matrix merge together. Icons are like skins in Fortnight but realistic. Entertainment is highly addictive. Simsense lets you feel and taste. Simsense addiction is more common than caffeine addiction.
People's homes are filled with smart devices. Everything is hackable but that's true in today's world as well. But in Shadowrun encryption is much more breakable. Still, people trust that nobody will bother, same as today.
